Join the Poor Peoples' March on the RNC

Take part in a history-making march for peace on September 1 in St. Paul, Minnesota. March on the Republican National Convention (RNC) to demand an end to the war in Iraq.

Welfare Warriors will be joining the Poor People's Contingent in the march. LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US. We'll be leaving from Milwaukee on August 31. The poor peoples contingent is demanding an end to the war on the poor here and abroad. There will be groups of students, immigrants, Arabs, Palestinians, labor uinons, bicyclists and more marching for peace. Lawyers form the National Lawyers Guild will march to witness/stop any illegal treatment by police.

The march will be the start of five days of actions, including a 2-day Peace Island to address Global Peace and Nonviolence, and Justice and Human Rights.

Moms in poverty can actually participate in two marches that demand an end to the war on the poor. On September 2 the March for Poor Peoples Economic Human Rights will be led by Kensington Welfare Rights (Phil). They  will also be holding a Truth Commission on Health and a World Court of Women.

Why protest at the RNC? Sara Flounders of Troops Out Now explains:

"Thousands of war criminals are invading St. Paul, MN on Sept 1. Their act is scripted down to the half minute--every minute a fraud. They will be planning more mass murder and theft. They will spend multi-millions and take over the media.

"They are war criminals. They have laid waste to Iraq. The people there, drowning in US dollars, are without electricity and water. Two million Iraqis are without homes! This unprecedented violence is done in our names. The bush administration has told 945 lies to justify this occupation. We are facing war criminals at the RNC. These are men who debate, 'is waterboarding a crime?'"

Call Welfare Warriors at 414-342-6662 to join the protest at the RNC.
